What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, as well as to provide information to their owners.

Does our website use cookies?

The website shows no advertising and has no social media pixels. The only thing that sets cookies is Google Analytics, and only if you accept it.

The first time you open the website, a window asks whether you accept statistics cookies. The Accept and Reject buttons carry equal weight and nothing is preselected. Until you answer, and if you decline, no request is sent to Google. The availability form works without cookies.

Which cookies we use

• _ga (Google Analytics): tells visitors apart with a random identifier, so visits can be counted. Duration 2 years, only with consent.
• _ga_ plus the website’s code (Google Analytics): keeps track of the current visit, so the pages you read in it can be counted. Duration 2 years, only with consent.
• Your answer in the consent window (us): remembers whether you accepted or declined, so we do not ask on every page. Duration 12 months. It is not a cookie: it stays in your browser’s local storage and does not travel over the internet.

What loads from third parties

The map on the Contact and Location pages is an image from OpenStreetMap, stored on our own server, and needs no consent. The Directions on Google Maps button opens Google Maps in a new tab only if you press it, and from there Google’s terms apply.

The fonts load from our own server. The icons (Phosphor Icons) load from the public content delivery networks unpkg.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net, which set no cookies and receive only the technical details of the connection, such as your IP address.

Statistics and search tools

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 by Google to see, in aggregate, how many people visit the website, which pages they read, which country and approximate city they are in, what device they use and where they came from. We also count how many requests are sent and how many people tap our phone number or email. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. We do not switch on advertising features or Google signals, and we do not link the statistics to the request you send us. The data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.

We also use Google Search Console, Google’s tool for website owners, which shows us in aggregate which searches the website appears for. It places no cookies on your device and does not show us who you are: verification is done with a record in the domain’s DNS.

Managing & disabling cookies

You can change your answer whenever you like: at the bottom of every page there is a Cookie settings link that brings the window back. If you decline after having accepted, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are deleted from your device.

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge) let you block or delete cookies. Doing so does not affect any part of the website, including the form.
